Cafes, bakeries and delicatessens
Pattaya has become quite the place to be and is literally now the number 2 city in Thailand after Bangkok.
With Pattaya now attracting a more sophisticated tourist and expat community, a more sophisticated palate is what follows. The last few years has seen a growing number of high class cafes, Coffee bars, bakeries and delicatessens coming to town and setting up business.
Coffee has become very popular with Thai’s, so much so that some of the best coffees available here are made from beans grown in the northern provinces of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Many Thai owned coffee shops tend to use home grown coffee. One shop in particular is Benjamit, adjacent to South Pattaya Road on the right of Soi Buakhao. Benjamit actually roast and grind their own coffee beans and supply other shops and customers too with reasonably priced ground coffee.
Also making quite a mark in Pattaya are the international brands such as Starbucks, Costa Coffee and Bon Coffee. All are high quality coffee providers and demand premium prices too! There are some Thai rising stars too including Black Canyon and S&P, both serve reasonably priced coffee, tea, cakes and other hot food.
Many coffee shops create their own pastries, or at the very least buy in fresh products every day. The Coffee Bar on Soi Lengkee has a very good section of cakes and pastries to accompany a nice Chiang Rai hot latte or Americano.
There are many new notable bakery/restaurants that have opened in the last couple of years in Pattaya. These are Liiv on Soi Khao Talo, La Baguette French Bakery on Pattaya Naklua Road, Back Fabrik Bakery on Jomtien Second Road, Au Bon Pain in North Pattaya, Le Pause just off Pattaya Third Road and the very much established The Continental Bakery in Jomtien, Soi Arunothai with 2 other Pattaya locations and a bakery on Koh Samui. The continental Bakery now produces over 100 varieties of bread, cakes, desserts, pastries and other bakery products. They supply over 170 Restaurants, hotels and shops with our products across Pattaya, Bangkok, Hua Hin and Koh Samui. The Breads are baked fresh every day and do not contain any chemicals to preserve its shelf life or to change its natural great taste. Both Liiv and La Baguette in particular have a very classy European style and restaurant decor. They serve great food and drinks in a very glamorous and cool dining environment.
Feeling hungry? Now with have to push the boat out and go one step further and talk about delicatessens. Pastrami on Rye recently opened in Jomtien on Thappraya Road. They simply create and serve sandwiches and American style pizza to die for. They serve the best Pastrami on Rye sandwich currently in Asia with delicious spicy brown or yellow mustard and if you love corned beef, the Reuben is a great sandwich and comes with melted Swiss cheese, Sour Kraut and a signature Reuben sauce. There’s also the highly rated Tamar Bakery and Restaurant to consider and the very popular international fast food deli, Subway, who have outlets on Beach Road and on Soi Buakhao.Tweet
