Thailand is vastly known throughout the world for its nightlife, wilderness, food, beaches and some of the best and most luxurious hotel chains in the world.  This makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southeast Asia.

Individuals that are into nature and the wonder that is the ocean can get their fix by taking a trip down to the Similan Island Archipelago.  Largely known for scuba diving, this small island chain consists of nine islands with white sand and crystal clear blue water.

For those that are more into exploring the city, Bangkok offers many sights and sounds that one would not find in any other city in the world.  The Grand Palace for instance, sees thousands of visitors per year who wish to take in the cultural aspect of Thailand.  The Grand Palace was built in 1782 and was a residence of the royal family until 1962.

Thailand truly offers something for everyone that comes here to visit.  If you like shopping, the country has some of the most diverse shopping centers and markets in the world.  Here you can find everything from live animals to Gucci bags.  Clothes, trinkets and many other things can be purchased from the countless night markets and bazaars throughout the kingdom.

For the reggae and Rasta type, Thailand’s islands offer some of the most unique blend of music and ambiance.  Phuket, Koh Tao and Koh Samui islands are quite possibly the most visited islands in the world.  They are also among the most popular spots for avid divers and snorkelers to be able to catch amazing coral reefs, rays, sea turtles and all of the rest of the usual suspects one would expect to see on a dive.

If it is the nightlife you are after, Pattaya is the place to be.  With literally thousands of activities for visitors to choose from, it really is the most diverse city in Thailand.  Pattaya is awash with old expats and Vietnam era veterans who made the decision to come to Thailand permanently.  Many have started companies and live here full time and others are on a six and six rotation (Six months here, six months home.)

No matter what it is that you are trying to get out of your vacation, Thailand more than likely has it on offer.  There are many stories at the moment going around about big businesses that see a future in Thailand and are making moves to invest.  It was also just announced that Thailand as of 1 December was waiving single entry tourist visa fees for all nationalities.

Before you book that flight to Turks and Caicos or Hawaii or the Bahamas, you should also be aware that things in Thailand are significantly cheaper than most other destinations.   If you don’t do your homework on the best destinations before you hop a flight, your vacation could have been so much better than it was.

You are absolutely correct. I have been to all those destinations, including Brasil ( bad crime, high poverty, high inflation and unemployement) as well as other countries. Thialand is safer, cheaper, more activities and significant less crime.
