Bira International Circuit was first established in 1985 and has played host to some of the biggest international race series in Pattaya including; South East Asia Touring Cars and the Asian Formula 2000 series.
Internationally Certified Race Circuit
You will find this ribbon of tarmac about 15km outside of town, along the highway 36 on the way to Rayong. It is the only internationally certified race circuit in Thailand, strange but true.The circuit gets its name from the legendary Prince Bira was and still is the only Thai to compete in Formula One. Not only was he a racing driver but he appeared at no less than 4 Olympic Games in the sailing category! He also built and flew aircraft and in 1952 he flew from London to Bangkok in a craft which he built himself! What a ledge!
65 Acre Site
Back to the track. Bira International Circuit is situated on a 65 acre site. There are tons of facilities you can try out including; the 2.41km FIA certified main track & pit lane, a newly renovated full size professional karting track, 4×4 off road course and a rally course.
Bira has racing events going on almost every weekend and many of these events are free! You may have to pay a small fee for parking but it is no more than 50thb. Bira offers ample seating in one of their grandstand areas as well as a wealth of food and drinks facilities.
Drive Your Own Car
For all you budding race drivers out there Bira offer you the opportunity to take your own car onto the circuit on organized track days. If you are in a large group, why not book the circuit out to host your very own private grand prix.
