Francesco, a former resident of Venice in Italy, moved to Pattaya in the summer of 2016, with the sole intention of opening a restaurant that would offer a taste of Italian cuisine to the locals and tourists of the city.

He achieved this around November of the same year and appears to have a nice venue, offering pleasant surroundings and good service.

There are five full time employees at restaurant, with the food lovingly created by a genuine Italian chef.

The restaurant is in Jomtien Soi 4, which is surrounded by condominiums, apartments and hotels, not forgetting the many small bars and businesses located nearby.

The Venue

This is a double unit, with an open front, offering on the face of things, an up market location for lovers of Italian food.

The tables are dark wood with matching chairs that have a red cushion for additional comfort. Each table is adorned with wine glasses, cloth napkins and accessories you expect to find at a nice venue.

There is a lot of dark wood around the premises, which oozes class, providing a pleasant setting for you to enjoy your meal. Even the ceiling is wood with hanging lights providing the ambience.

Strategically placed fans, ensure the customers are always cool when visiting Buono Italian Restaurant.

The dining area can seat up to 30 people at any given time and is a good choice for romantic dinners or family gatherings.

The Menu

The first thing you should be aware of, is that all ingredients are imported from Italy. For their pizzas, they have had a gas pizza oven delivered especially for the job in hand.

They offer daily specials which are always advertised at the location.

The bill of fare is written using Italian names but with English definitions of each item. For instance from the appetisers, you could select Calamari in guazetto con salsa al pomodoro picante, which is squid stew in a lightly spiced tomato sauce. They have a range of starters of this nature to select from.

Salad lovers can enjoy a Insalata Mista, Caprese or Insalata Di Cesare to name a few.

They have all the well known pizzas on offer such as Margherita and Prosciutto e Funghi or a vegetarian one.

But to simplify things for you, the mains bring you a choice of steaks in various sauces, Chicken Supreme, Salmon and a daily seafood offering straight from the fish market.

Pasta lovers will be happy to know that the popular spaghetti, ravioli, penne and risotto dishes are all available.

The main theme for drinks is their extensive wine selection, which all good restaurants offer. If you enjoy a good wine, you will be at home here.

For those who prefer a cold beer, they have the regular ones found around the city, all the branded spirits and of course soft drinks.

They do have happy hours but please check with the venue when these are and what is on offer.

Although essentially not part of the restaurant, they do offer 14 rooms for rent, all of which have en-suite, air conditioning, safe, coffee making facilities and refrigerator.

They offer room service direct from the restaurant’s kitchen.

A classy venue, that provides excellent dining facilities, good food and they have managed to keep the prices affordable to all.

Go in and check them out for yourself.
