Maam, a Pattaya resident all her life is the owner of this diverse restaurant, which has been in business since the year 2000.
It is located inside the Pattaya Beach Condo or View Talay 6 as some of you may know it as, which is on the corner of Soi 13 on Beach Road in Central Pattaya.
Maam has seven full time staff including two trained chefs to look after their many customers.
When you enter the restaurant, you will notice immediately that there is a German theme. Images on the walls, reflect this very well indeed. You will also observe large posters of Elvis, Madonna, Michael Jackson and the Thai Royal Family. The decor is a mixture of wood and pastel colours, with the ambience being provided from above by hanging lampshades.
A second room offers additional seating. Here you will find many ornamental figures or people and animals, either standing on the floor or placed on shelves. There are fish tanks in this area too, which offer a relaxing setting for your meal.
There is an L shaped bar and a variety of wooden tables and chairs, offering seating for up to fifty customers.
So what can you order from their bill of fare at Das Berliner?
As you browse the menu, you will see a list of breakfast items, for those of you who are early risers. Next is a range of light bites or snacks featuring bread rolls with assorted fillings available.
As you move onto the mains, you can select from items like Pork Goulash, Fillet of Pork in a Pepper Sauce, Escalope with Mushroom Sauce or the same in breadcrumbs.
Breaded Fish, Spaghetti Bolognaise, Pork Knuckle with Sauerkraut, Chicken Fricassee, Beef Stew, Salmon Steak plus many other dishes, many which deliver a taste of German cuisine.
There is a “Special Section” on the menu where items such as Cherry Duck and all the trimmings can be ordered.
Desserts come in the form of delicious fruits and ice creams.
There is a comprehensive Thai menu, should you prefer to sample local cuisine or maybe you are visiting with your Thai partner of friends.
Das Berliner Drinks
Customers can select from a range of beers to accompany their meals including Chang on draught, Tiger, San Miguel, Heineken, Leo and Singha.
House wines, a range or spirits and liqueurs, soft drinks or teas and coffees are also available.
