La Poste Bar Club – Soi Lengkee opposite Retox just off Third Road Pattaya
Name Of The Game
La Poste Bar Club is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. This is deliberate as discretion is the name of the game. Outside what appears to be a closed bar is a sign with opening times 1.30 p.m. to 2.00 a.m. and a shut door with a bell you have to ring for service!
Our purveyor of Pattaya bars, was sent to check out La Poste and report back his findings.
When he arrived he parked his bike outside and immediately approached La Poste Bar, he commented that he prefers to use the front entrance nowadays and was glad that he didn’t have to use the tradesmen’s entrance since he had retired.
After ringing the bell he was greeted by a member of staff and guided into a dimly lit bar. He was immediately greeted by the staff, all saying “Hello, welcome to La Poste, we hope you have a good time.” Or words to that effect!
He then sat down at a table and had a look round. It wasn’t quite like any post office from back home he thought, but there were some common elements.
There was a bar to the left, where the kiosks would have been, with several bar stools occupied by several middle aged European gentlemen, each had a lady assisting them with their drinking. He thought maybe these guys had come to collect their pensions? It was a Thursday after all and maybe the ladies were on their lunch break?
The bar had a red coloured interior with open brick décor. It reminded him of a pub in England from a long time ago…
He was soon approached by a very well-endowed lady who introduced herself as Som. He ordered this lovely lady and himself a round of drinks. The drinks were reasonably priced he thought.
As she sat next to him they began chatting and Som encouraged him to return after this initial visit to become a V.I.P member as there were discounts off drinks and other benefits too ? They sat down, chatted and after taking a few sips Som had to urgently removed her uniform!
He thought maybe she was getting a little hot, but this was not the case as she kept her cool and continued to talk about the job in hand.
Som then led him to a room and helped him unwrap his package. He apologised when it appeared the package was much larger than his initial description, Som seemed very happy about it and licked his stamps in a most professional manor, much to His delight. “We don’t get this kind of service back home!” He exclaimed.
When the job was done He completely forgot about the reason he initially went to the Le Poste. As he left, rather delighted with La Poste’s service all the staff gathered once again and spoke in unison “Thank you for coming, hope to see you again soon!”
So, if you’re in the mood to check out Pattaya’s alternative postal service, drop in at La Poste on Soi Lengkee between 1.30 p.m. and 2.00 a.m. Unlike the post office’s back home, La Poste is open 7 days a week!
