No it is not a spelling mistake, this venue is actually called the New Yok Club and is owned by Ann from Bangkok, who moved to the fair city of Pattaya in 2007.

Ann opened the bar in 2014, employing four staff to ensure customer service of the highest standard. It is located on Soi Chaiyapoom or what many of us call Soi Bumpy, due to its many potholes and attempts at fixing them. However, on your map it is likely to be called Chalermphrakiat 25.

The street links Third Road to the very popular Soi Buakhao and features numerous small businesses such as scores of massage shops, bars, music venues and eating houses.

The Venue

So what is NYC? Well, firstly it is a bar and secondly it is a guest house, offering accommodation for its drinkers or people who wish to spend short breaks in the city.

The front of the venue has a couple of tables, chairs, plants and has fans to help keep you cool but the main part lies behind a glass door. The bar area is different from most drinking establishments, in that the seating is almost entirely made up of comfortable pastel coloured sofas and chairs. It is fully air conditioned, offering a homely setting where customers can enjoy a drink.

The bar sits to one side and offers you the option to sit at the service area, where you can chat to the staff. A television is present, which generally displays sports and YouTube music videos.

The decor is creams, lavenders and whites, completing pleasant surroundings, which is appealing to say the least.

The Bar

The bar is well stocked with assorted rums, vodkas, whiskies and gins. You will discover liqueurs, shots and wines, offering a good selection of drinks to choose from.

Beer drinkers can select from one of the many brands available such as Singha, Chang, Leo and Tiger to name a few.

For non-drinkers, there is the usual range of soft drinks for you to enjoy. All drinks of course are served ice cold.

We mentioned above that NYC is also a guest house and as such, it provides four nice rooms for guests to rest following a hard day doing the touristy things in the city.

Each room has its own en-suite, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, safe, air conditioning and of course a large comfortable bed.

NYC offer lovely surroundings for a relaxing drink and decent accommodation for those who may wish to stay over.

They provide a pick up and drop off service to airports in Bangkok and Rayong, which is an additional bonus to those who are staying at the guest house.

The staff are friendly and always happy to see old and new faces at the bar.
