Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is around 15-18km of south of Pattaya in Na Jomtien
This verdant oasis is the largest and probably most beautiful botanical gardens in all of SE Asia. Founded in 1954 by Mr.Pisit and Mrs. Nongnooch, these gardens were open to the public in 1980 after 25 years of meticulous planting and pruning. As a result of all their hard work, Nong Nooch now receives over 2000 international visitors a day.
The gardens are a mixture of theme park & animal-park and RHS award winning botanical gardens. There is an elephant show a Thai Culture & Dance Show and even a Sports Car Collection on site.
Nong Nooch is a short hop from Pattaya and definitely worth the journey. The Thai Culture & Dance Show has a variety of traditional Thai dance, religious ceremonies and Thai boxing.
Perhaps the main attraction at Nong Nooch is the famous elephant show; the elephants play football, basketball, bowling, dancing, ride bikes, and even paint, it’s just amazing to watch! (We would like to state that the elephants at Nong Nooch receive the highest levels of comfort and care).
To get around the whole park it will probably take you the best part of a day. Watching the shows and exploring the wonderful gardens is a great way to spend an afternoon.
Careful, its HOT!
As a side note be warned that on a clear day it can get pretty hot walking around and there is not always that much shade. LOVEPATTAYA recommend a morning start in the gardens and head over to see the shows later on in the afternoon. Don’t forget your hats and sunscreen!
As America botanist Luther Burbank said: “Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.”
For a relaxing day out with the family Nong Nooch Gardens should be top of your list.
