Bee, the boss at this restaurant on Soi Yensabai, has called Pattaya her home from 2007. She opened her business in the same year and enjoys a fair bit of success.
Soi Yensabai, is a long street that connects Third Road and Second Road at their southern end. The area has an abundance of hotels and condominiums, restaurants, cafes, bars, laundries, massage and tattoo shops and of course convenience stores.
Bee employs five members of staff, who work hard to cater for their customers and always have a friendly smile for you upon arrival.
There is of course a strong Mexican theme as you may have gathered by the name “Cantina”. Alas there is no evidence of Speedy Gonzalez, just a decent restaurant and quality rooms for rent. The building sits on a corner, and sort of has a Latin/South American appearance.
You will discover a well stocked bar with a pool table and television inside plus a 30 seater restaurant at this Soi Yensabai venue.
The restaurant is large and spacious with an open front, where you can elect to sit and enjoy the street views if you wish.
There are 23 rooms to rent here. They come in three sizes, small, medium and large, and you can select based on your requirements and availability.
The rooms are generally spacious with a large comfortable bed as the centrepiece. Storage for clothing comes in the form of a chest of drawers and built in wardrobes. Bedside cabinets are present, and in some instances, you have a computer desk and chair.
The furnishings all match, giving a pleasant appearance to the air conditioned rooms. Wooden flooring and large overhead fans add to each rooms attraction.
A safe is provided for your valuables and of course the obligatory television and cable service is also present.
An en-suite completes the setting of these elegant rooms, which are ideal for long or short stay visits to the city.
The Food & Drink
Sit down at the bar or in the diner and order an ice cold beer, such as a Singha, Heineken, Chang, Tiger or Corona, most of which come in two sizes.
Or you could have one of their spirits or liqueurs, a glass of wine or a soft drink if you wish.
Your menu consists of breakfasts and snacks plus a range of main courses. You can order an American breakfast to get your day started or an omelette or they have breakfast sets to select from.
Feeling peckish later, then try a Sandwich, with various fillings. If you feel like something more substantial, how about a Burger and all the trimmings or Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Steak, Pork Chop or one of their salads.
Much of the food on offer is Thai based. You can expect to see Glass Noodle Soup with Pork and Tofu, Pork, Chicken or Beef in an Oyster Sauce, Chicken with Cashew Nuts or many dishes containing Shrimp, Squid or other locally caught seafood.
Sweet and Sour dishes, Curries and a range of delicious spicy meals, if you are able to eat hot and spicy food that is.
There is of course Mexican food and they specialise in items such as Nachos.
Overall, they have a very good selection throughout their menu.
The Pattaya Cantina offers good quality rooms at reasonable prices, tasty food and drinks that will keep most of you happy.
Service is friendly and the facilities are more than ample.
Give them a call to discover room availability or pop in for a meal during restaurant hours.
