Introduction

This massage shop sits on a road that links Soi Buakhao to Third Road. On the map it may show as Chalermphrakiat 25 but it is affectionately known as Soi Bumpy by locals, due to its many potholes. It is well known for its massage shops and is very popular with tourists and expats.

The shop is owned by Thud, who arrived in Pattaya from Udon Thani in 2013, opening the business shortly afterwords.

She employs three people who have all been trained in the art of massage.

The Venue

From the outside the venue resembles the front of a bar, with a bench table and stools being situated across the entrance. Here you will almost certainly here the cries of “Welcome Massage” as you walk by.

A chair can be found here which will be utilised for foot massages or other treatments. A blue banner can be clearly seen above the venue, advertising the company name.

Inside there are three massage beds, all of which have privacy curtains. The decor is mainly pastel colours with little to break up the plainness of the walls.

It is air conditioned and offers fans to help maintain a cool setting for their customers.

Services

Their three main massage treatments are the foot massage, Thai massage and the oil based treatment.

The Thai massage permits you to remain fully clothed although you may be provided with loose fitting shorts and shirt. The girls will push and pull you into a variety of yoga positions, using techniques that can be traced back for centuries.

There are no oils used during the process but you will be in constant contact with the masseuse as she compresses, stretches and pulls on each muscle.

This treatment should not be undertaken by anyone with a bad back or other similar injury. Ask the staff before going ahead with this massage.

The Oil based massage requires you to get naked but a towel is supplied and placed over your private area. The masseuse gently rubs the oil into your skin, manipulating each muscle with gliding hands, often gently tapping your limbs to bring the blood to the surface.

She will complete one side as you struggle to remain awake during this incredibly relaxing process. Turn over, close your eyes and relax as she repeats the sensational treatment on your front.

The foot massage is carried out on a special chair, where the giver will work the soles of your feet with fingers, knuckles and thumbs, manipulating various nerves and pressure points.

The Benefits

Depending on what source your read, there are numerous benefits from these massages. There is clear evidence that a good massage will relieve stress and anxiety and even help with depression.

A reduction in migraines, improved sleep, faster healing of muscle injuries and a host of other benefits, some of which claim to help with diabetes and other well known illnesses or conditions.

Conclusion

The only true way to determine how good a massage service is – is to try it yourself.

We would recommend everyone has a massage when in Pattaya, for some of the services rate amongst the best in the world.

And it costs no more than a decent breakfast, making it a cheap and affordable way to pass a few hours.
