Location

This eating house can be found on the south side of Lake Map Phrachan, which sits in the tranquil east side of Pattaya, 25 minutes from the city by car.

The area offers a bit of peace and quiet, yet still provides numerous bars, restaurants and hotels in a more residential area of the city. Many walkers and cyclists make use of this part of city because of the solitude and views afforded to them.

The Venue

Diners who visit this premises can sit in the sunshine, protected by parasols at the entrance or they can venture indoors and enjoy the cooler environment, provided by the air conditioning.

There is seating for over 70 people, in very pleasant surroundings. Tables are covered in a red table cloths, which blends with the decor perfectly. For those who simply wish to enjoy a cold drink at the bar, a number of comfortable bar stools are provided.

For entertainment, there is a television, which displays sport, along with two pool tables and a dart board. Middle of the road background music plays softly in the background, setting the scene perfectly.

The Menu

The Rose & Crown by their own definition, offer a simple concept. They deliver a range of tasty English food in a pleasing setting, catering mainly for the expats and British tourists. However they welcome people from across the globe to sample the cuisine or enjoy a drink and chat.

Following along the lines of a traditional English pub menu, they offer basics such as fish and chips, a variety of burgers and a selection of pies including steak and kidney and chicken and mushroom. You will find classics such as toad in the hole, meatballs, southern fried chicken, lasagna and chicken curry.

They do however bring to the table, imported Australian steaks, a succulent gammon or tasty pork steak to name but a few items from their comprehensive menu.

An all day breakfast is available in two sizes, catering for people with different appetites. Light bites and snacks can be purchased, such as sandwiches, ideal for a quick bite to eat, along with a beer.

For anyone who wishes to sample the delights of Thai cuisine, they have a very good selection available.

On Sundays, diners can tuck into to Sunday roast, with lamb, chicken, pork or beef served with all the trimmings.

The Bar

The bar has a very good selection of bottled beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks available. But for those who enjoy a draught beer, they have Thatcher’s Gold, Tiger, Heineken, Abbot Ale, Speckled Hen and Guinness to choose from.

Fancy something different? Then sample one of their many cocktails, which are frequently on special offer. Teas and coffees are also available.

Staff

There are two experienced chefs employed, to ensure the food is always of high quality. The bar and waiting staff will welcome and serve you in an efficient manner and of course, always with a friendly smile. The venture is managed by Peter, who originally comes from London but has lived in Pattaya since 2012.

Conclusion

Anyone who loves good old English food will enjoy this peaceful venue. The Rose & Crown keep it simple but effective, offering good food and drink in an idyllic location at affordable prices.
