The Corner House Bar is Situated at the Rompho Complex at Jomtien, South Pattaya including Massage shops, Restaurants, barbers/hairdressers, Tattooists, estate agents, a pharmacy, mobile phone shops and of course numerous Bars.
The complex is fronted by a permanent market with two indoor sections. One concentrates mainly on food, including fresh fruit and veg and the second covered area hosts a mixture of traders selling assorted goods. There are street vendors offering Thai and western cuisine that simply have to be sampled. But the area known as Rompho is renowned for its many bars and parties, where you will find countless expats and tourists alike, enjoying the atmosphere of Rompho. The Corner House sits on the main road as you drive by Rompho and is one of the first bars you will encounter when entering the Rompho Complex.
The Corner House bar is owned by Stuart and Petch. Stuart from Camden in London arrived from Spain in 2011 after spending 10 years there. Petch is from the ancient city of Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam. Stuart once owned another venue in Rompho, The Buddy Bar but sold it for 1.5 million baht before opening The Corner House in 2014. Stuart and Petch plan to marry in 2018.
The Corner House bar sits in a prime spot at the entrance to Rompho market. It can lay claim to being the largest bar in the complex, taking up three units. It has three open sides, two of which face outwards with views to the roadside, great for people watching. Two of the peripheries are lined with bench styled tables and bar stools, whilst one is adorned with low comfortable chairs, with tables to match. Inside The Corner House are tables for four with bar stools. The Corner House can easily cater for up to eighty guests.
The Corner House has four televisions including one projection screen, which show sports from opening till closing in the evenings. Background music is present with levels of sound that permit guests to chat freely. Fans are strategically placed around The Corner House to aid with keeping customers cool and comfortable. A free to play pool table and customer Wi-Fi is also available.
The Corner House offers food from a small but varied menu. The menu contains typical bar food, with a Thai selection included. There is also a very popular Sunday roast available, which often sells out. It is advisable to arrive early for lunch on Sunday’s at The Corner House to avoid disappointment.
The Corner House offers its customers a selection of bottled beers, spirits, wines, shots, soft drinks along with teas and coffee.
Live music events are hosted by The Corner House twice a week (Wednesdays and Fridays) but provisioning of a third music night is planned during the close football season, which will take place on Sundays.
Stuart takes great pride in The Corner House’s pool teams. Currently at the time of writing, they have four pool teams that compete in local leagues. A number of trophies won by the bar are on display. If you play pool, to a high standard, pop in and ask for Stuart, you may make the one of the teams.
The Corner House employ nine full time members of staff who will welcome you with a smile. Service is fast and efficient.
The Corner House is well known for hosting parties for its customers. They can provide entertainment and food, plus additional seating to cater for the masses. If you wish to hold a party at The Corner House, pop in and enquire at the bar.
There is parking for bikes and cars on the streets outside The Corner House.
