The Stones House is an impressive looking live music venue on Walking Street, and that’s just from the outside!
The building looks like a converted stone church or at the very least a very old, established large stone house. It’s actually only been open since May 2014.
This is the third large Live music venue created as a part of the same family including Rolling Live 2 on Walking Street and Rolling Live 3 on Soi 8 off Beach Road. Each building has its own individual style, but also similarities in design. The main influence is all things Rolling Stones. It doesn’t take long to realise if you take a look around the three venues, plus the names are a clue!
As you enter The Stones House you will see a seating area which overlooks the street, a larger seating area inside and a full sized band stage on the right.
The ceiling here is very high and there are arched windows on the back wall and there’s a super “The Stones House” lit up sign, just like the one on the front of the building. There are also 3 large TV’s on the walls for showing music videos and live video of the band.
Downstairs can easily seat 100 customers on comfy stools with high tables and VIP sofa opposite the stage. Upstairs overlooking the stage is a mezzanine floor that can accommodate another 30 seated guests at least.
The atmosphere here is vibrant and fun. When we visited it was one of the band singer’s birthday. He was treated like a star and even got a nice cake and gifts! If you’re a lady and it’s your birthday this is a great bar to celebrate it at. The Stones House will give you a free bottle of Red Label Whisky if you come as 4 people!
In House Bands
There are two professional in house bands at The Stones House. The first band play from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. and the second band from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. They play a selection of top Foreign and Thai pop and rock music hits including modern and classic tunes. They also take requests and it’s usual to tip the band if you ask!
The sound and lighting systems here are set up very well and the band’s look and sound great. Once a month or so you can catch a Thai Super Star concert here. These gigs and everyday shows are proving popular with foreigners as well as Thai people.
The Stones House, if you like live music and a super party atmosphere on Walking Street, it doesn’t get better than this!
