If you are on Thappraya Soi 9 and feeling peckish, you could pop in to Varin Kitchen for a bite to eat. The restaurant sits in a small residential street, just off the much busier road that connects Third Road to Jomtien and beyond.
There are many apartments, hotels and condos nearby, which provides this dining house with a very good catchment area.
Varin opened the restaurant in 2008 and has been pretty successful over the years.
This sixty seater venue is partly open air, so you can dine al fresco if you wish. Once inside, you are still able to enjoy the warm weather or cooler evening air, because the premises is open sided.
It has a brown tiled floors and a variety of tables and chairs, affording guest the ability to enjoy a table for two or they can cater for larger groups, such a family gatherings.
The external tables are of course weather proof and tend to be bench style. Overhead fans provide the cooling system in this large venue.
There is plenty of parking at Varin Kitchen for cars and motorbikes, so if you prefer to drive, it should be easy to park the car.
The food is well presented by the kitchen staff, often arriving on metal plates on top of a wooden board. Other dishes are served on white crockery for your pleasure.
The menu consists of Thai favourites such as yellow curry with bamboo shoots, green curry with chicken, spicy sea bass, stir fried beef in an oyster sauce or vegetables with various seafood in a stir fry.
You will find sweet and sour chicken, spare ribs, bean sprouts in oyster sauce, shrimp and peas and a squid dish cooked with eggs.
Beef in black pepper and garlic, shrimp in a pepper sauce, liver served with yellow curry, salt n pepper chicken all provide the customer with variation from this menu.
For those who are not keen on Thai food, they serve chicken steak in a wine sauce, ribs, fish or chicken in an orange sauce, tuna and other salads or you could have an English breakfast. There is also a range of omelettes, rice and noodle dishes plus pastas on the bill of fare.
The menu is predominantly Thai however but you will find something to suit most tastes for an extensive range of food on offer.
Ice cold bottled beers are on sale at Varin Kitchen. Enjoy a Heineken, Leo, Singha, Tiger for example.
Teas, coffees, and soft drinks are all to be found on their drinks list.
Lovers of Thai food will be in their element at this venue but basic foods like chicken or steaks are also there for those who prefer to avoid local cuisine.
We would however encourage you to sample something from the Thai specialities, sampling a taste of Thailand and local seafood.
