You can find the Vintage Barber Shop in the popular Phratamnak area of Pattaya on Soi 4, halfway down the street on the right.
The area has many excellent hotels, bars and restaurants but is more tranquil than the busier city centre. Phratamnak Beach is a stone’s throw away and you are within walking distance of Wat Khao Phra Bat tourist attraction, which affords visitors some of the most splendid views across Pattaya Bay. Wat Khao Phra Yai is also close by, often referred to as “Big Buddha” and is hugely popular with tourists.
The Vintage Barber Shop is managed by Catty, who has lived in Pattaya since 2000. She also has interests in property with a company called “Property Highlights”. Catty began working at the venue in early 2017, taking over the managerial role.
As you approach the shop, you will notice it has a covered seated area where customers can enjoy a coffee or drink before or after their desired service. Once inside, there are three barbers chairs to the left, a foot massage station to the rear and even a swimming pool for customer use only. Upstairs there is the massage area. The venue is modelled on the “Olde English Barber Shop” style with a retro feel about it.
So what is on offer? For the men, you can have your hair cut, beard and moustache trimmed, eyebrows groomed, grey hair covered, hair dyed, face spa and have an open razor hot and cold towel shave. For the ladies, you can enjoy a leg, body or bikini wax. And available to everyone, there is a number of massage options. From a foot massage, Thai body massage, oil massage, aromatherapy and herbal massages, body scrubs and even manicures and pedicures. This is the genuine article. Example Of Excellent Service
For the hot and cold towel shave, Toni will take you to your chair, where you will be provided with two foot stools to place your feet on, the chair is reclined and once you are comfortable, your eyes are covered with cold flannel, as relaxing music and the sound of running waters helps you chill out.
A variety of creams are applied to your face before the first hot towel is engaged. This aspect is repeated before the shaving foam is carefully implemented on to your stubble. Toni then shaves you with an “open razor” or “cut throat” as it was often called. Once complete, the process is repeated until your face is as smooth as a babies bottom.
Then anti-ageing gel is placed on your face, followed by more hot towels and a facial massage. As the creams go to work, you are treated to a head, shoulder and arm massage, before the towels are removed and replaced by a cold towel. Toni then dries of your face and prepares you to leave the chair. The experience is invigorating and one that every man should try.Should you wish, you can enjoy a coffee, beer or cold drink, and chat away to the staff.
