Three Best Shopping Malls In Pattaya
Pattaya has some excellent shopping malls for tourists to visit. Some offer a complete day out with not only shops but restaurants, swimming facilities, cinemas and bowling alleys.
Most of the options can be found along the length of Beach Road and Second Road and are in fact, placed close together.
Most have excellent car parking facilities for those who are driving but of course there is excellent public transport in the form or baht buses, taxis and taxi motorbike services to get you from A to B.
Let’s take a look at a few of the city’s shopping centres and what is on offer.
This exquisite shopping mall can be entered from Beach Road or from Second Road and is probably the city’s premier shopping venue. It attracts thousands of visitors every day, including local people and tourists alike.
There are hundreds of top shops here, many featuring the world’s best brands such as Adidas, Nike, Calvin Klein and Armani.
If you have browsed the many markets, offering cheap or fake clothing, this mall makes for a pleasant change in scenery.
As soon as you enter the building, you are immediately cooled by its fantastic air conditioning system before you venture through the security scanners.
Escalators and lifts will help you traverse its seven floors. Fashion shops, gold, watches, perfumes, shoes, leather goods, cameras, mobile phones and if you desire, you can even purchase a car here.
You will find items on sale across a range of prices from the extremely expensive to the more moderate and affordable but rest assured, the goods on sale are always top quality.
Maybe shopping is not your thing. You could let the ladies off the reins to go their own way, while you enjoy one of the many movies at the ten screen cinema, many of which are in English.
Or you could take the kids for a game of ten pin bowls or to the children’s entertainment area.
When you get peckish, take the family for a meal in one of the many restaurants and cafes available. You will discover a wide range of food venues, offering steaks, seafood, sushi or Indian cuisine to name a few. If fast food is more to the kids liking, all their favourites can be found here.
There is a landscaped garden area, with water features that afford guests fantastic views over Pattaya Bay, where you can enjoy your meal with a view.
Central Festival is easily Pattaya’s unsurpassed shopping venue and one that you should visit at least once.
This is a shopping mall with a difference. Not only can you shop here but there is a wide range of entertainment on offer, in the form of family attractions, restaurants and much more.
Again, it is accessible from Beach Road and Second Road but is located closer to Pattaya Tai than Central Festival. We would recommend approaching from Second Road however, for here you will observe a bright red aeroplane that appears to have crashed into the facade of the premises. It hangs intimidatingly above as you pass underneath to enter the mall.
As mentioned above, this is a shopping centre with a bit of originality. The plane is part of the Ripley’s Believe It or Not, a museum of strange objects and mysteries that is part of the mall’s entertainment.
The plaza is a multi-storey affair, with an impressive range of shopping outlets on offer. As expected in such a prestige venue, you will uncover a vast array of shops selling items of fashion, beachwear, jewellery, silk, bags and so much more.
When hunger strikes, you have a variety of options available such as pizza, steaks, international cuisine, and like Central Festival, there is an area offering amazing views across the bay.
The family will adore this venue, because of the many family orientated attractions on offer. There is a wax works, featuring famous characters including pop legend Michael Jackson and Tomb Raider star, Angelina Jolie.
Other attractions comprise of a 4D moving theatre, a maze and a haunted adventure experience.
Entrance fees to these attractions are paid at the individual attractions but you can purchase a ticket that will offer access to them all and save you up to half the cost of the normal price.
So if your looking for training shoes, handbags, sunglasses, clothing, fashion accessories or an excellent range of food and entertainment, then this is a shopping centre you must visit.
This shopping mall can be accessed from either Pattaya Second Road or Beach Road.
The Mike Shopping Mall is often overlooked with preference given to the larger Central Shopping Mall but anyone who takes the time to visit and look around this excellent venue, could be pleasantly surprised.
The mall has a superb variety of stalls, most of which are retailers of “quality” items and famous brand names. Unlike Central, this venue is open-plan in design, in the style of a market but on a grander scale.
Entering from Second Road, there are a few outdoor street vendor stalls, which sell mainly belts, wallets, bags or other leather goods. A coffee shop sits to the left as you go through the main doors.
Continue into the large venue and you will find retailers of perfumes, beauty products, clothes, sunglasses, luggage, shoes, socks, underwear, jewellery and wallets, all of which are high quality goods.
Take the escalator to the next floor and you are presented with mainly men’s designer clothing shops. Again they are open-plan but you will find most of the common or popular brand names from around the world.
Santa Barbara, Gambol, Rosso, Pierre Cardin, Vanson, Arrow and Police to name a few. If you are looking for sports footwear, there is Adidas, Nike, Puma etc. available here.
Wander around the lingerie section, peruse swimwear, beds and bedding, towels, teddy bears, more training shoes, baby clothing and more.
There is a ladies clothing section, tourist gifts and a variety of odds and ends
Finally, there is a gym and even a roof top swimming pool, with spectacular views over the bay. Guys, let the ladies go shopping and you can chill by this splendid facility.
